VisionOps awards PDU credits

VisionOps provides course credits via Project Management Institute's recommendation for Personal Development Units!

VisionOps is authorized to provide PDU credit for courses.

VisionOps' courses eligible for Professional Development Unit (PDU) award are:

  1. Designated as such on the web page by product listing
  2. Registered with the Project Management Institute.
  3. Documented on a Certificate of Completion provided to each student successfully completing a VisionOps course.

Each PDU equals one contact hour of class participation.

Several elements are considered in establishing PDU credit allocation. These elements align to PMI®’s requirements and to the requirements of the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET). (NOTE: IACET certification is under consideration by VisionOps and has not yet been applied for or granted by IACET)

Credit is provided for activities directly associated with the ‘class time’ of a course, and not for preparatory activities.

  • Online students are credited based upon the time it takes the average student to actively listen to the lecture material provided and to complete the assessments associated with that material. Allowances are made for limited breaks, as described by PMI® methodology.
  • In person students are credited based upon the average time it takes the class to cover the instructors prepared lecture material and to complete any assessments associated with that material. Allowances are made for limited breaks, as described by PMI® methodology.

Additional time by students may be required for activities outside the classroom such as reading material, working with groups or writing papers.

You may access PMI's policy at its web site.

The VisionOps process is overseen by the Managing Partners of VisionOps. Susan Kendall holds the primary responsibility for the process. Initial and annual reviews are conducted for each course. An intitial review is conducted when a new course comes ready by both VisionOps partners. In addition to course readiness, each course is evaluated for the expected number of student hours for each course component. This forms the initial contact hour assessment. Course are brought to market and each course requests student information regarding actual completion times for activities. A running average can then be completed and periodically updated. Annual reviews of criteria and courses are performed and credit hours are realigned if noted by this review. A master list of course content aligned to course credit is maintained.
